MICHELLE TIMPSON
LPC, MA, NCC
Pre-Licensed Professional Counselor
I am a National Certified Counselor with my masters degree in clinical Mental health counseling from Southern Adventist University and my bachelor’s in counseling psychology from Washington Adventist University. I have over 10 years of working in the Mental Health field, serving a variety of populations and their various needs. My most extensive work and speciality has been with children and adolescents and individuals on the Autism spectrum and other neurodiversities.
I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy, as I believe therapy is not a one size fits all service; different people heal in different ways. My approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, DBT techniques, and ABA trained and certified. I work with anxiety disorders, depression disorders, ADD/ADHD, childhood trauma, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
As a woman of color who grew up in Baltimore Maryland, my upbringing has provided me with a personal wealth of knowledge about the experiences of diversity and the adversity faced by minorities. My passion for working with individuals on the Autism spectrum stems from my personal experience of having grown up with a father and brother who are neurodiverse. They continue to fuel my passion for this population.
As you start this journey, I feel honored to walk alongside of you. Therapy is hard work but so rewarding when we truly gain a deeper sense of ourselves.
