SCOTT BEHRENS LSW, MSW, CFBT

Licensed Social Worker

Certified Family-Based Therapist

I am a Licensed Social Worker with both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work from Millersville University. Over the past five years, I have worked extensively as a Family-Based Therapist, supporting individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional, relational, and behavioral challenges. In 2021, I earned my certification in Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), an evidence-based model that emphasizes the importance of relationships, attachment, and systemic interactions in promoting family wellness and emotional healing.

Throughout my clinical experience, I have specialized in working with families navigating high levels of conflict, parent-child attachment concerns, and communication breakdowns. I am particularly skilled in helping family members identify and shift dysfunctional patterns, develop healthy boundaries, and create more supportive, emotionally responsive environments. My training in ESFT has given me a strong foundation in working through intergenerational trauma, family role dynamics, and systemic barriers that impact family functioning.

In addition to my family work, I also provide individual and couples counseling, both in-person at our Lititz office and through telehealth. I support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, work-related stress, low self-worth, and emotional regulation difficulties. A significant part of my work includes helping professionals who are struggling to maintain balance, purpose, and emotional wellness in high-stress or demanding careers. I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach that meets each person where they are, while also challenging them to grow toward their goals.

When working with couples, I focus on fostering open communication, rebuilding trust, and exploring emotional injuries that may be impacting the relationship. Whether clients are seeking help with conflict resolution, emotional disconnection, or major life transitions, I aim to create a safe, neutral space where both partners feel heard and understood.

My therapeutic lens is deeply humanistic and grounded in the core values of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I believe that every person is inherently worthy of dignity, respect, and compassion. I work to ensure that clients feel empowered and supported throughout their healing process, tailoring my interventions to meet their unique cultural, relational, and emotional needs.

Born and raised in Lancaster, I understand the unique dynamics and strengths of our local community. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, watching sports on the weekends, playing volleyball, and relaxing outdoors. I am currently welcoming new clients and would be honored to support you on your path toward healing, connection, and personal growth.
