Dr. Katie Linebarger is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor with a doctorate in Educational Leadership. She currently serves as a clinical leader at an alternative education school, where she supports students navigating complex behavioral, emotional, and academic challenges. In addition, she is an adjunct professor at Elizabethtown College, where she teaches and mentors future counselors and educators—bringing real-world clinical insight to her academic role.

With nearly two decades of experience working with youth and families, Dr. Linebarger specializes in treating anxiety, anger, behavioral dysregulation, depression, and complex trauma. Her areas of expertise include crisis intervention, emotional regulation, school-related stressors, family dynamics, and working with students who have been impacted by systemic barriers and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). She is particularly skilled in helping clients who feel misunderstood or overlooked in traditional educational or mental health settings.

Dr. Linebarger uses an eclectic, trauma-informed approach that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, person-centered work, and strength-based interventions. Her clinical style is grounded in authenticity—she is real, honest, and direct, while deeply compassionate and attuned to the individual needs of each client. She’s known for her ability to quickly build rapport and create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to do meaningful work.
What sets Dr. Linebarger apart is her deep understanding of how emotional challenges intersect with educational environments and developmental stages. She’s a natural advocate and guide for those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or discouraged, and she is passionate about walking alongside clients as they reclaim their agency, self-worth, and voice.
